The celebration for the 2020 BOP – Bologna Prize for the Best Children’s Publishers of the Year are a key part of the BCBF Online Special Edition. The BOP Prize is awarded each year to showcase editorial projects, professional skills and intellectual qualities of work from publishing houses all over the world. Let’s meet Alboroto Ediciones, winner for CENTRAL/SOUTH AMERICA!
Alboroto Ediciones is a Mexican independent publishing house. Alboroto was born in 2018 as a team work proposal so its creative people are fundamental to the company. Alboroto’s books are meant to disrupt through images in order to get a reaction. Alboroto books tackle several topics related to social context: dictatorship, exile, disappearances, social integration, disabilities amongst other topics. As difficult as these discussions can be, Alboroto’s books talk about them from an aesthetic and poetic point of view.
